My Story
Greetings my dear art aficionados. My name is Tatsiana Leonidovna Lashkina, and I paint professionally as Tatsi Lash. Welcome to the world of my art and imagination. My deepest passion lies in the creation of art that touches the heart and fills the soul with joyous feelings of happiness and love. My work is a fusion of unique abstract ideas, imaginary elements, and expressive landscapes, delivered to the canvas in a multitude of vibrant hues and passionate brush strokes for what I hope to be a truly uplifting experience.
My love for art started at a very early age. As a child I always had a colored pencil in my hands and spent countless hours absorbed in drawing and painting everything in sight. Born in the beautiful country of Belarus, I was raised surrounded by gorgeous forests, lakes, rivers and meadows, which helped me to develop an early appreciation for beauty, colors, and shapes. My passion became very obvious to my parents and at the age of six they enrolled me in art school where I was trained in a variety of classical styles and worked with numerous mediums such as oil, water color, gouache and charcoal. My amazing and talented teachers gave me years of invaluable experience, knowledge, a further love for painting.
Along with art I was always fascinated by foreign countries and cultures, which lead me to graduating from Gomel State University in Belarus with a degree in English Literature & Foreign Languages. After graduating I emabrked on a new journey and travelled to the Unites States where I curretnly live in Southern California. However, through a series of difficult events I soon found myself facing numerous overwhelming struggles and very hard times, compounded my missing my family and country. During one of these bleak periods, I happen to come across a bag filled with my old paint brushes- brushes that were so dear and precious to me. A wave of powerful emotions flooded through me. I immediatley ran to an art store to buy some paints and canvas and dove right back into painting. I couldn’t believe how amazing it felt to be creating art again. It felt so natural and so right, and for the first time in years I truly felt like myself again. I havent put the brushes down since, and I am so overwhelmingly grateful to God for keeping the creative fire and passion within me and for leading me back to the path of art. Since that moment I have been painting daily and creating art professionally with all my heart and soul.
Today I focus on creating unique, one of a kind expressive abstract art. My style is distinguished by an abundance of unique elements and methods in a complex approach, creating the desired effects with multiple layers and textures, intricate shapes and patterns, expressive brush strokes and fearless unexpected compositions. When working on my paintings, I dive deep into the imagination, where there are no boundaries and the possibilities are limitless. I work both spontaneously and through carefully developed thought and reflection. In my mind I constantly go through a vast array of ideas and images, developing, combining, arranging them until they are ready to be born onto the canvas. Through alternating soft and bold strokes, and light and thick textures I achieve desired feelings and perceptions. Yet some of my favourite aspects of creation of art is colour! Colour in itself is an endless source of inspiration for me. I place a tremendous emphasis on it, utilizing an extensive palette of vivid, rich and luscious hues to create joyful, splendorous and emotional atmospheres.
Freedom of expression is priceless to me. The imagination is boundless, with a constant flow of ideas. My goal is to create unique, authentic art that is driven by deep passion, flight of imagination and being true to myself. With my art I desire to take viewers to beautiful, dreamy places and to evoke feelings of joy, bring out smiles, and light up viewers hearts.
